3 Reasons Why I Love Scribd You’ve been in this situation, I’m sure: You need to find a template, or a form. You look it up on line. You spend a couple of hours, wasting your time, without finding one you can actually use… or one that doesn’t have restrictions that make it useless… or one that costs money to download, with no payment option you can currently access. I’m betting your time is as precious to you as mine, because you’re just as busy. Who needs to spend hours searching Google? Nowadays, I simply go to Scribd.com. Not only does Scribd have a massive collection, but it has forms and templates that are definitely “outside the box”, such as Dungeons and Dragons index templates. You’ll find templates for: - Business plans - Websites - Power Point slide shows - Email - Forecasting - Charts - Bullet point slides - Estimating - Novel planning - Short Story outlines - Timesheets - Excel spreadsheets - Marketing And more than I’ve currently explored! Good for Ideas Another reason I like Scribd: You can open it up, and simply glance at the Trending tab to see what’s currently the buzz of the day. You will have a nice mix of evergreen subjects such as “Healthcare” and “crossword puzzles” along with highly topical subjects, such as “Winter Olympics” “Toyota Recalls” and “Haiti Relief”. It Saves Time By Default The final reason I find Scribd very handy is an odd one. It’s static. Oh, everything is right there, and there are wonderful graphic thumbnails of documents currently on Scribd: But the ugly truth is, if I go to my Twitter account to check out their trending keywords, I’m likely to be lured away by a colleague’s reply to my last Tweet, or sucked into checking out an interesting link – not because I have the time to, but because I know I’ll never find (or remember) that link again, if I don’t check it out now. (Twitter links are so transient!) Whereas Scribd Trending topics and Featured reads seem to stick around long enough for me to return to them – or instantly bookmark them through my Scribd Reading list. No fuss, no muss… and no distraction. (What are your favorite features of Scribd? Do you find you feel it’s highly customizable to your needs and lifestyle, too?)
